Alberto Alejandro Alvarez Puga
12 years

Alberto is entering second year of junior high with an 8.7 GPA. He lives with his mother, step-father and two other siblings. For most of his life, his dream has been to be a pilot and says he'll join the Mexican airforce if that's the only way he can learn to fly a plane. Jazmin Esmeralda Espinoza Puga
12 years

Jazmin lives with her father and mother, who run a small store, her sister, Ibeth, who is also receiving a scholarship, and another sibling. She's entering second year of junior high with a 9.0 GPA. She wants to do better in life and says that an education will help her become someone. She would like to work in tourism and learn different languages. She'll do her community service helping in the breakfast program.


Julia de Jesus Tolentino Romero
17 years

Julia is a very bright girl who has had to overcome some tough obstacles. She lives with a close friend and their family who have taken her in as their own daughter. She's entering second year of high school with a 9.3 GPA. For her community service she'll be teaching younger school-age children how to read and write. She wants to become a lawyer to fight against injustice.


Maria del Carmen Martinez Perez

Carmelita is a creative young girl who draws and makes and sells crafts. She lives with her father, who's in the military, her mother and two other siblings. She would like to own a craft store and also be a paediatrician. She's entering first year of junior high with an 8.7 GPA. Stephanie Reyes Rebolledo

Stephanie is a hard-working young girl who would like to be an elementary school teacher. She lives with her father, a security guard, her mother and two siblings. She's entering first year of junior high with an 8.7 GPA. She would like to do her community service in a number of places speaking to people about helping pick up the garbage that litters the neighbourhood.


Reyna Crisstal Espinosa Sandoval
16 years

Reyna is entering second year of high school with a 9.3 GPA. She lives with her mother, who works in administration in a shopping mall, her father who paints houses, her sister Julia, and Reyna's friend, Julia de Jesus, who also receive scholarships, and a younger sister. Silverio Alejandro Dominguez
12 years

Silverio loves everything about the ocean and is going to a school that specializes in fisheries. He'll be entering first year of junior high with a 9.4 GPA. He lives with his mother, a single parent, who works in a variety store, and two sisters. He would like to see the community clean and secure with no graffiti. Although he enjoys fishing, he would like to have a profession, possibly an architect, money and a family.

13 years

Alejandro lives with his father, a construction worker, his mother, and two other siblings. He's in second year of junior high with a 9.8 GPA. He's environmentally conscious and for his community service would like to help clean up the community and the multi-purpose building where our breakfast program is held. His dream is to study medicine.


Maricela Yolath Roque Rivero
12 years

Although a little shy, Maricela has big ambitions to be a doctor in order to help others. She's entering first year of junior high with an 8.7 GPA. She lives with her father, a construction worker, her mother, a salesperson, and two younger sisters. She'd like to do her community service in the church or the breakfast program.


America Daniela Robles Martinez
15 years

America began receiving a scholarship for the 2008-2009 school year. She lives with her father, who's self-employed, her mother who works as a secretary in a government office, and her sister. She's entering first year of high school with a 9.3 GPA and would like to be a kindergarten teacher. She does her volunteer service in our library and breakfast program.


Betzi Bibiana Olea Martinez
12 years

Bibi (Betzi) is bright, astute and enthusiastic. She lives with her father who works as a barber in the military, her mother and two younger siblings. She's entering first year of junior high with a 9.8 GPA. She would like to be a primary school teacher or a nurse. For her community service, she'd like to teach catechism classes. Claudia Espinoza Valles
17 years

Claudia has been receiving a scholarship since the 2007-2008 school year and is entering her last year of high school. She has an almost perfect 10 GPA. She lives with her mother who cleans offices, her sister, Elizabeth, who also has a scholarship, and an older brother, his wife and child. She has been doing her volunteer service at an orphanage as well as community service for her school.


Elizabeth Espinoza Valles
16 years

Elizabeth has been receiving a scholarship since the 2007-2008 school year. She's entering second year of high school in a school which specializes in marine biology with a 9.2 GPA. She's the sister of Claudia (above). She, too, has been doing her volunteer service at an orphanage.


Gabriela Bernal Guevara
18 years

Gabriela lives with her father, step-mother and step-brother in a very poor area with no electricity or piped-in water. She is entering her last year of high school. She is grateful for any financial help and would like to be a teacher in order to help children improve their lives. For her community service, she has been helping at our breakfast program.


Gloria Yulissa Gonzalez Hernandez
14 years

Gloria is entering third year of junior high with a 9.3 GPA. She says that a scholarship will be a big help economically and that an education will help her know more about the world and help her to serve society. She would like to be an architect. She mentioned that when her dad is older, if he has no work, she'll have a job for him. She does her community service at the breakfast program.


Ibeth Berenice Espinoza Puga
13 years

Ibeth is entering third year of junior high. She lives with her parents and two other siblings. She would like to be a teacher and she helps in our library for her community service.


Jennifer Abril Almanza Cota
12 years

Jenny is bright and enthusiastic. Both her mother and father work and she has a younger sister. Jenny says she wants to be "someone in life" and would like to be a social worker to help people do well in their lives or a lawyer to defend the innocent. Whatever she does, she would like to change the world to be a better place to live. She's entering first year of junior high with a 9.5 GPA. She believes that community service helps make people responsible and it also helps others.


Julia Yiczelt Espinosa Sandoval
13 years

Julia is one of the kindest, most loving children I know. She lives with her mother, who works in administration in a shopping mall, her father who paints houses, her sister Reyna, and Reyna's friend, Julia de Jesus, who also receive scholarships, and a younger sister. Julia is entering second year of junior high school with a 9.5 GPA. She wants to be a teacher and for her community service, is teaching eight first and second graders how to read and write. Dafne Naomi Diaz Abarca
13 years

Naomi (Dafne) is entering second year of junior high with a 9.6 GPA. She wants a career as a special education teacher and says that the scholarship is a good motivator to keep studying without the threat of having to interrupt school due to lack of finances. She enjoys school because she likes to learn new things every day. She lives with her father, an electrician, her mother and two other siblings.


Monserrat Limias Garcia
15 years

Monserrat has been receiving a scholarship since the 2008-2009 school year. She lives with her parents and two other siblings. She's entering first year of high school with an almost perfect 10 GPA. She does her volunteer service in our library and breakfast program.
